Refosco is a relatively rare variety in Australia that originates from Friuli in North East Italy. It is naturally very high in the compound rotundone, which is responsible for the pepper character in red wines. Surrounding its firm structure is a captivating savory character, offering notes of sour cherry, plum, prune, wild herbs, and pepper. The finish is marked by a dry, astringent quality that adds to its overall complexity.
