This wine exhibits a deep ruby color with remarkable intensity and depth. True to Maranaga's reputation, it showcases forest berry fruit characters, complemented by subtle hints of violets and floral notes, adding complexity. The grapes for this wine were sourced from the esteemed Roennfeldt Road vineyard in Marananga, Barossa Valley, originally revitalized by Gil McDonald during the late 1970s and 1980s. Fermented in small lots, the wine was then aged in 50% new French oak for 20 months before bottling. Minimal intervention was applied throughout the winemaking process, with minimal movement of the wine prior to bottling, and no cold stabilization or filtration.
