In 2022, the cooler season followed by a warm period just before harvest resulted in a naturally fresh character that complements the richness of our old vine Shiraz from MMAD Vineyard. With a third of whole bunches retained, the wine exhibits added grip, spice, and savory complexity. Expect pure violet and blueberry aromas, accompanied by hints of earth, dark salted chocolate, and ripe, mouth watering tannins.

MMAD Vineyard, owned by a partnership of Martin Shaw, Michael Hill Smith MW, Adam Wadewitz, and David LeMire MW, brings together a team of experienced wine professionals. Martin and Michael, cousins who founded Shaw + Smith winery in Adelaide Hills in 1989, are part of this partnership. Adam and David, now co-CEOs at Shaw + Smith, with Adam serving as Chief Winemaker and David as Head of Sales and Marketing, contribute their expertise to MMAD Vineyard as well.
