Teusner Albert Shiraz 2021

Teusner Albert Shiraz 2021

Teusner Albert Shiraz 2021

The old vineyards of the Barossa yield fruit with elevated concentration of flavor and soft, supple, velvety tannins, distinguishing them from younger vines. The Ebenezer vineyard contributes ferrous depth, lifted perfume, and dark fruit complexity, while the Koonunga block adds mid-palate richness and muscle. The complex aromatics feature dark fruits, hints of menthol spice, and charcuterie. The palate is packed with boysenberry, black satsuma plum, black cherry, and cassis, delivering great intensity and length. The fine-grained, supple tannins are well-balanced with the acidity, ensuring this wine will cellar beautifully over the next decade or so.

Albert Shiraz is named after Kym Teusner's grandfather, Albert Alfred Teusner, a man admired for his commitment and persistence. This wine is crafted from select parcels of fruit sourced from two of Teusner's favorite vineyards: an old block at Ebenezer in the Barossa’s North and another in the Barossa’s Far North at Koonunga.
