Langmeil Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
Langmeil Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon 2020
From the southern subregion of Lyndoch comes Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon, aged in French oak (35% new) for 25 months. This vintage displays a slightly firmer structure compared to previous releases, with fine tannins reminiscent of granite dust providing a robust framework. Ripe flavors of blackberry, blueberry, and black cherry dominate, complemented by nuances of five-spice, pastis, biscuity oak, olive tapenade, roast goose, and pressed blossom, adding layers of complexity. The wine boasts ample depth, showcasing ripe black fruits with a savory undertone and a lingering finish.
Jackaman's vineyard, where Langmeil's most exceptional and scarce Cabernet Sauvignon thrives, was planted in the 1960s during the Barossa's Cabernet revolution. Arthur Jackaman, a colorful Barossan who was a World War II paratrooper, boxer, and butcher, meticulously cared for this vineyard. Upon retiring, he entrusted his small plot to Langmeil.
