Bakkheia Priapus Cabernet Sauvignon

Bakkheia Priapus Cabernet Sauvignon

This Cabernet was cane pruned just for fun and the wine turned out better than expected.

Michael and Ilonka Edwards embarked on their retirement venture by relocating to the Preston Valley in Western Australia in 2005. There, they acquired a property with a small patch of Cabernet Sauvignon vines planted in 1999. Over time, they expanded their vineyard to include 3 hectares of Grenache, Mourvèdre, Graciano, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and Malbec. Additionally, they source Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc grapes from a neighboring vineyard. Their marketing strategy is unique, as they chose a winery name that reflects Bacchus, the Roman god of wine, and the bacchanalian revelry associated with the consumption of wine.
