Yalumba The Signature Museum Collection Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2012

Yalumba The Signature Museum Collection Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz 2012
Yalumba is Australia's oldest family-owned winery, established in 1849 by British brewer Samuel Smith in Angaston, Barossa Valley. The name "Yalumba" is derived from an Indigenous Australian word meaning "all the land around," reflecting the winery's deep connection to its surroundings. Over six generations, Yalumba has remained independent, with a commitment to producing wines that showcase the best of the Barossa.
Each vintage of The Signature is named in honour of an individual who has made aÂ
significant contribution to the culture and traditions of Yalumba. The 54th Yalumba The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz, a superb 2012 vintage that honours fifth generation Vigneron Robert Hill-Smith. The release of this wine to celebrate RHS’ 30 years of service as Yalumba’s Managing Director and toast the future as he makes the move to Chairman of the Yalumba board.
Winemaker Notes
52% cabernet Sauvignon & 48 % Shiraz, mature for 22 months in French hogshead and barriques, with the balance in older French, Hungarian, and American hogshead. Blood red in colour with hues showing some maturity. Complex aromas of ground coffee, chocolate and red fruits. The palate still shows the 2012 vintage vibrancy and tension, now layered with complex umami and cedar. This wine is deep, even, long and utterly delicious. Yalumba
