Small Island Pinot Gris 2021
Small Island Pinot Gris 2021
The Small Island Pinot Gris is sourced from the Glengarry vineyard in the Tamar Valley. James Broinowski achieves a superb balance of freshness and texture with this contemporary-style Pinot Gris. It is vibrant with flavors of succulent pears and green apples, complemented by fresh, crunchy acidity that adds a lively edge.
Tasmanian-born James Broinowski earned his viticulture and oenology degree from the University of Adelaide in 2013. Facing the common challenge of startup funding, he was the first to successfully use crowdfunding for his wine venture. In his inaugural year, he produced 2,100 bottles of award-winning Pinot Noir and 200 bottles of Rosé using grapes from Glengarry in northern Tasmania. The next year, he expanded to include Pinot from the renowned Gala Estate and continued sourcing from Glengarry. By 2019, he added the Saltwater River vineyard on the Tasman Peninsula to his collection of premium sites.
