Langmeil The Fifth Wave Grenache 2020
Langmeil The Fifth Wave Grenache 2020
The wine presents a delightful aroma of dark cherry, raspberry, and sweet spice, complemented by subtle cedary oak and savory notes, contributing to its overall complexity. On the palate, the experience unfolds with juicy red berries and dark cherries, where the soft and sweet fruit harmoniously balances with briary spices. The finish is enduring, leaving a lingering impression of fruity and spicy notes, characteristic of its chalky yet fine-grained tannins.
The Fifth Wave stands as Langmeil's prized Old Vine Garden Grenache, paying homage to the fifth generation of the Lindner family. Planted in 1973, this vineyard serves as a rallying cry to champion and safeguard the finest aspects of the Barossa, along with an underappreciated grape variety. Grenache sourced from vineyards aged between 47 and 135 years old in Lyndoch, southern Barossa Valley. Aged in 88% seasoned American oak and 12% new French oak.
