Hochkirch Village Pinot Noir 2021

Hochkirch Village Pinot Noir 2021
Jennifer and John Nagorcka established their first vineyard in 1990 on their family farm in Henty in south-west Victoria. John & Jennifer Nagorcka’s family vineyard (20 acres) is part of a larger integrated Demeter certified mixed Biodynamic farm of 700 acres. The vineyard is close planted at 5,000-6000 vines/Ha on a North facing slope, 250m above sea level near Tarrington in southwest Victoria.
All fruit is naturally fermented with indigenous yeasts and no additives. The wines are fermented in open vats, with regular hand plunging and extended maceration after fermentation. They are then matured for 15 months in predominantly old French oak barrels before being racked once and blended for bottling. All wines are bottled unfiltered, using gravity. The only addition is a small amount of sulphur dioxide (P220) just before bottling, though select wines are also bottled without any added sulphur.
Winemaker Notes:
Floral, rich, full nose with a powerful and resonant aroma. The palate has attractive sweetness followed by fine tannins, great structure and a long and savoury finish. The wine combines fulness and density with precision and is quite stylish too. This is a super Biodynamic Pinot Noir with lovely lingering flavours on the finish. Hochkirch
