Matt Bowness served as the winemaker at Sittella Wines for a commendable 8 years, during which time he steered the winery to numerous prestigious awards. Together with his father, Ken, they secured a modest property in Margaret River in 1994, where they planted vines. A decade later, they expanded their venture with a vineyard in Perth Hills. Initially, the grapes harvested from both vineyards were sold, but in 2008, a small batch was crafted while Matt was still at Sittella. In 2011, Matt decided to pursue his dream further by founding Fairbrossen Estate, leading to the establishment of the winery in time for its inaugural harvest in 2012.
