Yarra Yering is one of the Yarra Valley’s most iconic and historic wineries, established in 1969 by Dr. Bailey Carrodus, a pioneer who helped revive winemaking in the region. Known for its elegant, age-worthy wines, Yarra Yering quickly earned a reputation for excellence, with its first commercial vintage released in 1973.

Since 2013 the winery is led by acclaimed winemaker Sarah Crowe, whose focus on site expression and sustainable practices has earned widespread recognition, including multiple Winemaker of the Year awards. Her second ‘Winemaker of the Year” accolade was in 2021, presented by Gourmet Traveller Wine Magazine. The same year Yarra Yering won the 2022 James Halliday Winery of the Year & Wine of The Year, the first time a winery has ever won 2 major accolades in the one year. 

Tasting Notes

"A blend of 60/40% shiraz/cabernet. Yarra Yering's experimental take on an Aussie classic. This was fermented and matured in two 500L Spanish clay amphora. A deepish, bright crimson purple. Complex and discreet with aromas of dark fruits, crushed violets, wet stone and a subtle herbal nuance. Medium bodied and persistent with superfine tannins on the composed, elegant and nicely balanced palate.
