Langmeil Jackaman's Cabernet Sauvignon 2020

The Lindner family of Langmeil Winery has been immersed in the Barossa’s culture of
farming, food, wine and community for six generations. Their commitment to quality in
all aspects is unwavering and any wine that bears the Langmeil name represents the
family’s pursuit of excellence in wine and community.

Jackaman’s vineyard is home to Langmeil’s finest and rarest Cabernet Sauvignon, planted in the 1960s during the Cabernet revolution in the Barossa. This vineyard was lovingly tended by the colourful Barossan Arthur Jackaman, a World War II paratrooper, boxer and butcher who in retirement passed his small plot into Langmeil’s care.

Tasting Notes

"The southern subregion of Lyndoch is the source for this Jackaman's cabernet sauvignon, which is matured in French oak (35% new) for 25 months. It comes across as a little more structured than the previous release with fine, granite dust tannins providing a substantial framework for ripe blackberry, blueberry and black cherry fruit notes. Hints of five-spice, pastis, biscuity oak, olive tapenade, roast goose and pressed blossom add to the intrigue. Plenty of depth and ripe black fruits with a nice savoury swish to its tail and a sustained finish" 93 Points - Halliday Wine Companion, Dave Brookes (2023).
