Founded by Rick Kinzbrunner, Giaconda vineyard originated from Kinzbrunner's transition from mechanical engineering to a profound interest in wine during the early 1970s. Over the next decade, Kinzbrunner immersed himself in the wine industry, embarking on travels and pursuing his passion. Following a brief period in New Zealand, he furthered his knowledge at Davis University in California and gained experience at renowned wineries in the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, including Stag's Leap, Simi, and Matanzas Creek. Additionally, he worked in Europe for the Moueix group, co-owners of the esteemed Chateau Petrus in Bordeaux.
