Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2022
Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2022
A brilliant, water-like core is surrounded by distinct green highlights. The nose is dominated by potent aromas of lime, citrus, and orange rind, accompanied by hints of green apple, chalky talc, wet steel, and subtle minerality. While more approachable than recent vintages of Polish Hill, it remains tightly coiled in comparison to the Springvale.
The palate unfolds with an intense flavor profile of lime and citrus fruits, complemented by notes of orange rind and crunchy green apple, along with a touch of talc. Taut and infused with a steely mineral backbone, the mouth-watering acidity imparts a slightly chalky feel. The wine displays outstanding concentration, energy, and structure, culminating in an exceptionally long and focused finish.
Jeffrey Grosset is widely acclaimed as Australia's top riesling producer, both domestically and internationally. However, his expertise extends beyond riesling, encompassing chardonnay and pinot noir from the Adelaide Hills, as well as Gaia, a Bordeaux blend from the Clare Valley, and Apiana Fiano and Nereus, a shiraz-based wine with a hint of nero d'Avola. Despite his unassuming demeanor, Jeffrey possesses a determined resolve. Notably, Grosset's four estate-owned vineyards in the Clare Valley are certified organic and biodynamic
