Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2021

Grosset Polish Hill Riesling 2021

Geoffrey Grosset hails the 2021 vintage as spectacular, particularly highlighting the Polish Hill Riesling for its structural prowess and intense flavor potential, poised to become one of the standout vintages.

The wine exhibits a brilliant, very pale straw color with greenish edges. Aromas of lime, citrus, and orange rind leap from the glass, merging seamlessly with talc, wet steel, and mineral notes. The palate experiences a combination of intensity and tension, as lime and lemon fruits take center stage, guided by a precise line of laser-like acidity that provides structural support. Extending gracefully onto the back half are nuances of orange rind, talc, and steely minerals. The finish is dry, marked by exceptional power and depth.

Jeffrey Grosset is widely acclaimed as Australia's top riesling producer, both domestically and internationally. However, his expertise extends beyond riesling, encompassing chardonnay and pinot noir from the Adelaide Hills, as well as Gaia, a Bordeaux blend from the Clare Valley, and Apiana Fiano and Nereus, a shiraz-based wine with a hint of nero d'Avola. Despite his unassuming demeanor, Jeffrey possesses a determined resolve. Notably, Grosset's four estate-owned vineyards in the Clare Valley are certified organic and biodynamic.
