Yalumba is Australia's oldest family-owned winery, established in 1849 by British brewer Samuel Smith in Angaston, Barossa Valley. The name "Yalumba" is derived from an Indigenous Australian word meaning "all the land around," reflecting the winery's deep connection to its surroundings. Over six generations, Yalumba has remained independent, with a commitment to producing wines that showcase the best of the Barossa.

Each vintage of The Signature is named in honour of an individual who has made a significant contribution to the culture and traditions of Yalumba. It is with great pleasure we present our 46th vintage release of The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon & Shiraz – a superb 2015 vintage that honours the late Darrell Kruger. We raise a glass of this wine to celebrate Darrell’s years of service, commencing in 1975 working for Yalumba in the Barossa vineyards. Darrell lived by the old saying “if you enjoy what you do, you never work a day in your life,” and over the years Darrell rose to become Barossa Vineyard Manager.

Matured for 22 months in 18% new Yalumba-coopered French barriques, French and Hungarian hogsheads, balance in older French, Hungarian and American barriques and hogsheads. The blend is 51% Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon & 49% Barossa Shiraz.

Tasting Notes

"This has deep and exotic aromas of red and blue fruits, currants and wild cherries with eucalypt notes. The palate has lovely depth and structure with a generous, fleshy mid-palate that finishes with warm, lingering spices. A wonderful Signature that will continue to develop." Yalumba
