Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Leeuwin Estate Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon 2021
Leeuwin Estate, one of the founding wineries of Margaret River, Western Australia, was established in 1973 by Denis and Tricia Horgan, with early guidance from Robert Mondavi. Vines were first planted in 1975, and the inaugural vintage followed in 1979. The winery rose to international prominence after Decanter Magazine highly recommended its 1981 “Art Series” Chardonnay, cementing its reputation for world-class wines.
Now led by three generations of the founding family, Leeuwin Estate continues to produce highly regarded wines found in leading restaurants and wine merchants across more than 30 markets. With a strong focus on sustainable viticulture, the team is dedicated to expressing purity, precision, and site-driven character in every wine.
Leeuwin’s Art Series Chardonnay and Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon are included in wine auction house, Langton’s, prestigious classification. With point scores as high as 98/100, US Wine Spectator has included Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnays in the editor’s annual top 100 list on numerous occasions with the 2011 vintage ranked wine #5 in 2015. The Art Series Cabernet Sauvignon has been included in UK Decanter Magazine’s Top 50 wines of the year and as a US WINE & SPIRITS Top 100 wine.
Tasting Notes
"One of the distinctive features of this wine, and in a way a DNA link to all Art Series cabernet, is its savouriness. It’s the rolled tobacco, nori, iodine and whiff of new leather plus the cedary oak, but these are not separate, they form a whole impression. There’s also the core of excellent fruit, the structure, the supple tannins and the bright acidity. And the joy of drinking it." 96 Points - Halliday Wine Companion, Jane Faulkner (2024)
