An icon in Australian wine. Established in 1844 by Dr Christopher and Mary Penfolds started out making sweet and fortified wines, it was until the 1950's when Max Schubert came back from France and started making dry red wines, out of which Penfolds Grange was recognized as one of the outstanding Australian dry reds.
